1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to
4 the family and friends of Anthony Lamor Birk, who passed away
5 on September 12, 2001; and
6 WHEREAS, Anthony Lamor Birk was born to Harold and Carrie
7 Birk on July 23, 1954; he received his formal education from
8 the Chicago Public School system, graduated from Harper High
9 School, and attended Daley College; and
10 WHEREAS, Mr. Birk's professional career included being a
11 Cook County Sheriff, for which he received numerous awards
12 within the law enforcement system; and
13 WHEREAS, Mr. Birk was active in the community and was a
14 member of the Crime Stoppers; he was also a member of Sacred
15 Heart Church; and
16 WHEREAS, The passing of Anthony Lamor Birk will be deeply
17 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife of 25
18 years, Carol; his sons, Mark, Myron, and Antwan; his
19 daughter, Mia; his parents, Harold and Carrie Birk; his
20 grandchildren, Tatiara Flowers, Briana Birk, and Mya Birk;
21 his brothers, Harold Birk, Jr., Eddie Birk, and Everett Birk;
22 his sisters, Virginia McClendon-Jones and Theresa Birk; his
23 aunt, Marie Coleman; his uncles, Eddie Jenkins, Jr., Willie
24 D. Jenkins, Tommie Smith, and Manley Birk; his mother-in-law,
25 Ruth Brown; his sisters-in-law, Regina Connor, Denise Birk,
26 Karen Birk, and Brenda Nelson; his brothers-in-law, Robert
27 Nelson, Keith Connor, Jimmy Flood, and Johnny Jones; and a
28 host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and
29 WHEREAS, Anthony Birk was a loving husband, devoted
30 father, respectful son, good neighbor, and trusting friend
31 who was loved by all who came to know him; therefore, be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we mourn, along with all who knew him, the death of Anthony
4 Lamor Birk of Chicago, Illinois; and be it further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to the family of Anthony Lamor Birk with our
7 sincere condolences.
