92_HR0632 LRB9215463BHpcA 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives would like 3 to congratulate Jim Pitcairn, who through his outstanding 4 performance at Lincoln-Way High School, the New Lenox Fire 5 Department, the New Lenox Methodist Church, and the New Lenox 6 Chamber of Commerce, earned him the honor of Citizen of the 7 Year award, by the New Lenox Chamber of Commerce; and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. Pitcairn, a New Lenox resident since 1963, 9 spent 32 years at Lincoln-Way High School District #210, 10 starting as a classroom art teacher and spending the final 20 11 years as a School District Administrator; he retired in 1995 12 after developing and initiating numerous programs on behalf 13 of the student body; among his many contributions were 14 various substance abuse programs and counseling services for 15 runaway students, and also extracurricular activities for 16 students with special interests; and 17 WHEREAS, Mr. Pitcairn accumulated 25 years on the New 18 Lenox Fire Department, starting in 1971 as a volunteer; Mr. 19 Pitcairn worked with the New Lenox Cable Access Channel 6 and 20 the New Lenox Fire Department in the production of the film 21 Roadside Roulette, an award-winning video dealing with 22 substance abuse on Prom night; and 23 WHEREAS, Mr. Pitcairn has been a member of the Manhattan 24 Lions Club for 10 years, the New Lenox Township Family 25 Services Commission, and the United Methodist Church building 26 committee; in addition, he and his wife, Kathryn, served as 27 youth group sponsors at the New Lenox Methodist Church in the 28 1970's; therefore, be it 29 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 30 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 31 we congratulate Jim Pitcairn of New Lenox, Illinois for his 32 achievement in earning the New Lenox Citizen of the Year -2- LRB9215463BHpcA 1 award, and wish him success in of all his future endeavors; 2 and be it further 3 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be sent 4 to Jim Pitcairn as an expression of our esteem.
