1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The highest award the National Council of the
3 Boy Scouts of America can bestow upon a Scout is that of
4 Eagle Scout; and
5 WHEREAS, Keith Stefanisin of Breese, received the Eagle
6 Scout Award at a Court of Honor held on January 12, 2002; and
7 WHEREAS, Keith is a Sophomore at Central High School in
8 Breese, Illinois, where he is involved in many student
9 activities, including the school musical in 2001; he is also
10 a member of the "Order of the Arrow", which is best described
11 as Scouting's National Honor Society; and
12 WHEREAS, In order to qualify as an Eagle Scout, a young
13 man must demonstrate outstanding qualities of leadership, a
14 willingness to be of help to others, and superior skills in
15 camping, lifesaving, and first aid; and
16 WHEREAS, Keith's Eagle Scout project was organizing a
17 local blood drive that garnered almost twice the expected
18 goal; he also attended the National Scouting Jamboree in Fort
19 AP Hill in Virginia this past summer and will hike at
20 Philmont Scout Ranch, New Mexico this summer; and
21 WHEREAS, In earning this high rank, Keith Stefanisin
22 joins an elite and honorable fraternity of achievers that
23 counts among its members an extraordinary number of this
24 nation's great leaders in business, government, education,
25 and other sectors of society; and
26 WHEREAS, The achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout
27 reflects favorably upon the recipient, his justly proud
28 family, his Scoutmaster, and his fellow scouts; therefore, be
29 it
30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
2 we join his family and friends in congratulating Keith
3 Stefanisin upon attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and
4 commend him upon the unswerving dedication to excellence that
5 is the hallmark of the Eagle Scout; and be it further
6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to Eagle Scout Keith Stefanisin as an expression of
8 our respect and esteem.
