1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, Born on September 17, 1942, Thomas Marcotte
6 joined the Niles Fire Department on May 3, 1969; he was
7 appointed Fire Apparatus Engineer on March 3, 1986; at the
8 time of his retirement on November 30, 2001, he served as
9 Engineer on Engine Company #3; and
10 WHEREAS, During his career with the Niles Fire
11 Department, Thomas Marcotte has had an exemplary record in
12 his service as a paramedic and fire apparatus engineer; he
13 was injured three times while performing his duties; in
14 addition, he is a 1973 graduate of the first paramedic
15 program in the State of Illinois; and
16 WHEREAS, Thomas Marcotte received two commendations for
17 saving property during a fire incident in 1992 and for rescue
18 activities in 1994; and
19 WHEREAS, Thomas Marcotte retired on November 30, 2001
20 after 32 years and 7 months with the Niles Fire Department;
21 he will be remembered as a supporter of the department's
22 programs, but most notably, he was always willing to lend a
23 hand; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we congratulate Thomas Marcotte on his retirement after 32
27 years and 7 months of service with the Niles Fire Department,
28 and we wish him well in all of his future endeavors; and be
29 it further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
31 presented to Thomas Marcotte as an expression of our esteem.
