92_HR0786 LRB9216562BHbh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The State of Illinois' Proposed FY 03 Budget 3 reduces the mental health appropriations for McHenry County 4 by $1,059,742, resulting in a 17% decrease in the overall 5 State Budget for mental health services for individuals 6 residing in McHenry County; and 7 WHEREAS, Between 1980 and 2000, the number of people 8 receiving mental health services in McHenry County increased 9 by 150%; and 10 WHEREAS, The State of Illinois has not kept pace with 11 population growth or inflation increases in its funding for 12 mental health services for McHenry County; and 13 WHEREAS, When adjusted for inflation, McHenry County 14 received less funding in 2000 than in 1985 from the State of 15 Illinois for mental health services; and 16 WHEREAS, the loss of this funding will significantly 17 reduce the quantity and the quality of behavioral health 18 services for individuals with mental illness and 19 developmental disabilities residing in McHenry County; 20 therefore, be it 21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 22 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 23 we urge Governor Ryan and the Secretary of Human Services to 24 help restore the $1,059,742 in cuts to mental health services 25 for McHenry County; and be it further 26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 27 presented to the Governor and to the Secretary of Human 28 Services.
