1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to recognize milestone events in the
4 lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Harold "Lynn"
6 Forbes is retiring from the Illinois Department of
7 Transportation after 34 years and 10 months of service; and
8 WHEREAS, Born on July 5, 1944 in Barnhill, Illinois,
9 Harold Forbes is a 1962 graduate of Fairfield Community High
10 School and received his bachelor's degree in Engineering
11 Technology from Southern Illinois University in 1967; and
12 WHEREAS, Mr. Forbes began his career with the Illinois
13 Department of Transportation on June 12, 1967, as a Civil
14 Engineer I for District 9; throughout his career, he was
15 promoted through the ranks of Civil Engineer; he is retiring
16 as Civil Engineer VIII - District Engineer at District 5 in
17 Paris, Illinois; and
18 WHEREAS, On March 1, 1985, Harold Forbes was the
19 recipient of the Engineer of the Year Award from District 9;
20 and
21 WHEREAS, Harold "Lynn" Forbes will retire from the
22 Illinois Department of Transportation on April 30, 2002 after
23 34 years and 10 months service as a Civil Engineer;
24 therefore, be it
25 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
26 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27 we congratulate Harold "Lynn" Forbes on his retirement and we
28 wish him well in all of his future endeavors; and be it
29 further
30 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

1 presented to Harold "Lynn" Forbes as an expression of our
2 esteem.
