1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are proud to congratulate Saint Juliana Roman
4 Catholic Parish in Chicago on its 75th anniversary; and
5 WHEREAS, Saint Juliana Parish is located in the Edison
6 Park neighborhood of Chicago; its first Mass was celebrated
7 on June 19, 1927 at a makeshift altar in the assembly hall of
8 the newly-built Ebinger School; and it has grown to a
9 congregation of over 2,500 members and an elementary school
10 enrollment of almost 800 students; and
11 WHEREAS, Saint Juliana offers quality Christian education
12 through its school and its religious education program; it
13 offers many social services that enable the parish community
14 to serve others; and it conducts a variety of parish
15 celebrations and social events; and
16 WHEREAS, Under the direction of Father Phil Dressler,
17 events have been scheduled throughout the year to celebrate
18 Saint Juliana's 75th anniversary, and on Sunday, June 9,
19 2002, Cardinal George will celebrate the 75th Anniversary
20 Mass and the dedication and blessing of the new Parish
21 Activity Center will take place; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
24 we congratulate Saint Juliana Parish on its 75th anniversary
25 of fulfilling Edison Park's spiritual, educational and social
26 needs and we wish the parish continued success in the future;
27 and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to Father Phil Dressler, Pastor of Saint Juliana
30 Parish, as an expression of our esteem.
