1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are honored to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
6 Representatives wish to acknowledge Daniel Kornblut on the
7 occasion of his retirement as Principal of Elm Place School,
8 Highland Park, Illinois for his many years of dedicated
9 leadership and service to the school and the community; and
10 WHEREAS, Daniel Kornblut has been employed by Elm Place
11 School for 35 years and has served as social studies teacher,
12 Assistant Principal, and Principal of the school; and
13 WHEREAS, Daniel Kornblut has played a significant role in
14 the lives of the students as a teacher, coach, and
15 administrator; and
16 WHEREAS, Daniel Kornblut has provided leadership in the
17 support of United Way by achieving twelve years of 100%
18 participation by his staff in the United Way program; and
19 WHEREAS, Mr. Kornblut initiated Elm Place's recognition
20 as one of the first schools in Illinois to be awarded status
21 for Excellence in Education by the State in 1982; and
22 WHEREAS, Mr. Kornblut graduated from the Harvard
23 Leadership Program for Administration; and
24 WHEREAS, Mr. Kornblut implemented a nationally recognized
25 transition program for students leaving elementary school
26 into the Middle School and students leaving Middle School
27 preparing for High School; and
28 WHEREAS, Mr. Kornblut created an exceptional elective
29 program for students, offering over thirty classes; and

1 WHEREAS, Students acclaim that Mr. Kornblut has a
2 spectacular sense of humor, dedication to the school, support
3 for the sports teams, exceptional kindness, and compassion
4 for them; and
5 WHEREAS, Mr. Kornblut is being honored by the school and
6 the community on the event of his well deserved retirement;
7 therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10 we congratulate Daniel Kornblut upon his retirement as
11 Principal of Elm Place School in Highland Park, and wish him
12 well in all of his future endeavors; and be it further
13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to Daniel Kornblut as an expression of our
15 gratitude.
