92_HR0990 LRB9217053BHbh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives are proud to congratulate James R. Donoval 4 for his efforts on behalf on Seguin Services; and 5 WHEREAS, Mr. Donoval will be honored at a special event 6 on June 7, 2002, at which a plaque will be unveiled honoring 7 him for his service as President of the Board of Directors of 8 Seguin Services and his outstanding volunteer service to the 9 children and adults of Seguin Services; and he will be 10 recognized by Seguin Services as the Marjorie A. Feeney 11 Volunteer of the Year at the Annual Awards Celebration on 12 June 27, 2002; and 13 WHEREAS, Mr. Donoval was a member of the Seguin Services 14 Board of Directors from February, 1993 through June, 2002, 15 and he served as President of the Board of Directors from 16 July, 1999 through June, 2002; and 17 WHEREAS, During his tenure on the Board, Mr. Donoval was 18 a member of various Board Committees, including the Finance 19 Committee, the Development Committee, the Constitution and 20 By-Laws Committee, and the Nominating Committee; he has 21 greatly assisted Seguin Services in the acquisition of homes 22 and the initiation of services to persons with developmental 23 disabilities; and 24 WHEREAS, Mr. Donoval has been a leader in the tremendous 25 growth of services by Seguin to address the needs of adults 26 and children with disabilities in the local community; he is 27 responsible for the initiation of the "You Hold The Key" 28 project, which is intended to raise funds to provide for the 29 ongoing upkeep, safety, and security of Seguin homes and the 30 people with developmental disabilities residing in those 31 homes; he has been especially helpful in raising funds to 32 support Seguin operations to build a "rainy day" fund, -2- LRB9217053BHbh 1 including the establishment of a golf outing, and the support 2 of Seguin through special events and its individual giving 3 program; and 4 WHEREAS, Mr. Donoval received his bachelor's degree in 5 Finance and Management and his law degree from DePaul 6 University in Chicago; he is a Certified Public Accountant; 7 and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. Donoval has worked for Andersen Consulting, 9 served as Director of Budgeting for Northwest Hospital, 10 worked with Arthur Anderson in tax consulting, worked in 11 private practice as an attorney, served as chief legal 12 counsel for the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, and 13 worked in the law offices of Edward R. Vrdolyak, Ltd.; he 14 currently works in the law offices of Brown, Udell, & 15 Pomerantz, Ltd.; and 16 WHEREAS, Mr. Donoval has served as an elected trustee for 17 Morton Community College; he has served in support of the 18 Berwyn-Cicero Council on Aging; and he has served as a member 19 of the Pav YMCA Board of Directors; and 20 WHEREAS, Mr. Donoval received recognition for outstanding 21 service from the National Association of Liquor 22 Administrators in 1993 and he is professionally recognized as 23 an expert in Illinois liquor law; and 24 WHEREAS, Mr. Donoval's exemplary record of service to the 25 community is a great source of pride to his family, including 26 his wife, Sharon Hammer, his mother, Anne Donoval, and his 27 sisters, Carolyn Bennett and Janet DePuy; therefore, be it 28 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 29 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 30 we congratulate James R. Donoval for his long and 31 distinguished record of volunteer service to the children and -3- LRB9217053BHbh 1 adults of Seguin Services; and be it further 2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 3 presented to James R. Donoval as an expression of our esteem.
