1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are proud to congratulate Ronald E.
4 McLaughlin on his retirement from the Chicago Public Schools
5 after serving with faithfulness and dedication for
6 thirty-seven years; and
7 WHEREAS, Mr. McLaughlin attended college at Coahoma Jr.
8 College in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and received his
9 Bachelor's degree from Alcorn State University in Lorman,
10 Mississippi; he earned his Master's degree from Roosevelt
11 University in Chicago and continued his education through
12 Post Graduate Studies at Chicago State University; and
13 WHEREAS, Mr. McLaughlin began his services in Chicago as
14 a teacher at John Milton Gregory Elementary School, where he
15 was later coordinator, assistant principal, and finally
16 principal; Mr. McLaughlin was Region 5 Desegregation
17 Coordinator and Region 5 Administrator; and
18 WHEREAS, Mr. McLaughlin has played a part in the ongoing
19 effort to provide students with a quality education and has
20 left his mark at the Chicago Public Schools; and
21 WHEREAS, Mr. McLaughlin's contributions to the education
22 of the children of Chicago have been invaluable and have
23 provided the foundation upon which we can build to achieve
24 the goal of making the Chicago Public Schools the best in the
25 nation; therefore, be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 we congratulate Ronald E. McLaughlin on his retirement and
29 wish him all the best in his future endeavors; and be it
30 further
31 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

2 esteem.
