1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are proud to recognize significant events in
4 the lives of the citizens of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Rosemary and
6 Richard Snow are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their
7 marriage on August 1, 2002; and
8 WHEREAS, Rosemary and Richard Snow were married on August
9 1, 1952; and
10 WHEREAS, Rosemary and Richard Snow have made significant
11 contributions to the community, as teachers and mentors to
12 young people; as campaigners for political and social change;
13 as scientists and researchers for the public good; as
14 colleagues who share a love for nature and athletics; as
15 leaders in church and civic society; as fighters against
16 racism and sexism; and as good friends, parents, family
17 members, and neighbors; and
18 WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion is an opportunity to
19 celebrate their lifelong commitment to each other and to the
20 institution of marriage; therefore, be it
21 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
22 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
23 with a tip of our collective hat, we congratulate Rosemary
24 and Richard Snow on the 50th anniversary of their wedding,
25 thank them for all their contributions, and wish them many
26 more years of marriage in community; and be it further
27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
28 presented to Rosemary and Richard Snow as an expression of
29 our esteem.
