1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The Mokena Fire Protection District provides
3 emergency service protection to areas of Mokena, Frankfort,
4 Orland Park, and Homer Glen; and
5 WHEREAS, The Mokena Fire Protection District has received
6 Accredited Agency status with the Commission on Fire
7 Accreditation International (CFAI) for meeting the criteria
8 established through the CFAI's voluntary self-assessment and
9 accreditation program; and
10 WHEREAS, The Mokena Fire Protection District is one of 59
11 agencies that have achieved Accredited Agency status with the
12 CFAI; currently, there are over 27,000 fire departments alone
13 in the United States; this puts Mokena in the top .1% of fire
14 departments in the United States to receive this status; and
15 WHEREAS, The CFAI is dedicated to assisting the fire and
16 emergency service agencies throughout the world in achieving
17 excellence through self-assessment and accreditation in order
18 to provide continuous quality improvement and the enhancement
19 of service delivery to their communities; the CFAI process is
20 voluntary and provides agencies with an improvement model to
21 assess their service delivery and performance internally and
22 then work with a team of peers from other agencies to
23 evaluate their completed self-assessment; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we congratulate the Mokena Fire Protection District on
27 achieving Accredited Agency status with the Commission on
28 Fire Accreditation International; and be it further
29 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
30 presented to the Mokena Fire Protection District as an
31 expression of our esteem.
