92_HR1053 LRB9217842RHrh 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 3 Representatives wish to express their sincerest condolences 4 to the family and friends of Bradley Lamont Minniefield, Sr. 5 who passed away on September 5, 2002; and 6 WHEREAS, Bradley Lamont Minniefield, Sr. was born on May 7 16, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to proud parents of Perry and 8 Louise Minniefield; and 9 WHEREAS, Mr. Minniefield graduated from Marshall High 10 School, where as a member of the ROTC he attained the rank of 11 Captain; his outstanding performance and work ethic lead to 12 his recruitment into the newly formed Chicago Police Academy 13 as a cadet; and 14 WHEREAS, During his 32 years of service with the Chicago 15 Police Department, Mr. Minniefield attended several colleges 16 and graduated from Northwestern Traffic Institute, School of 17 Police Staff and Command; he received numerous commendations 18 and citations for his exemplary service to the City of 19 Chicago; and 20 WHEREAS, Upon his retirement, Mr. Minniefield worked for 21 the Cook County State's Attorney office as an Investigator; 22 and 23 WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Butch", Bradley 24 Minniefield was a role model and an inspiration to all that 25 knew him; he was a person of integrity and character and was 26 often referred to as a "Policeman's Policeman"; and 27 WHEREAS, The passing of Bradley Lamont Minniefield, Sr. 28 will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially 29 his devoted wife and friend, Doris; his daughter, Robin 30 (husband, Torres) Ratcliff; his son, Bradley Jr; his mother, 31 Louise; his sister, Barbara Williams; his brothers, Gregory, -2- LRB9217842RHrh 1 Michael, and Darryl (wife, Venice) Minniefield; his 2 grandchildren, Charity and Cameron; his mother-in-law, Janie 3 Patrick; his sisters-in-law, Gloria and Lena (husband, 4 Charles); and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, 5 friends, and colleagues; therefore, be it 6 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 7 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 8 we mourn, along with all who knew him, the death of Bradley 9 Lamont Minniefield, Sr. of Chicago; and be it further 10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 11 presented to the family of Bradley Lamont Minniefield, Sr. 12 with our sincere condolences.
