92_HR1069 LRB9218128HShsA 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, the House of Representatives of the State of 3 Illinois is pleased to recognize achievements of citizens of 4 Illinois; and 5 WHEREAS, Robert T. Jacklin, Sr. is the winner of the 2002 6 Charles E. Piper Award for business achievement, which is 7 given by the Berwyn Development Corporation; the Piper Award 8 recognizes individuals whose achievements and contributions 9 toward the growth and development of Berwyn's business 10 community best exemplify the spirit of the original Berwyn 11 developer; and 12 WHEREAS, Mr. Jacklin was born and raised in Berwyn and is 13 the founder of Jack's, Inc., a successful equipment and tool 14 sales and rental business; Jack's, Inc. has continuously 15 expanded its operation on 26th Street in Berwyn since it was 16 established in 1965; today, three generations of Jacklins are 17 involved in the family business and actively involved within 18 the community; and 19 WHEREAS, Mr. Jacklin is a 28-year veteran of the Berwyn 20 Fire Department; he was actively involved with St. Mary of 21 Celle Little League for 12 years and the Cub Scout Master of 22 Troop 26 for 6 years; he served as President of the Berwyn 23 Rotary Club from 1982 to 1983 and Vice President from 1992 to 24 1993; he was a member of the Suburban Savings & Loan Board of 25 Directors for 5 years; he is currently a member of the Cicero 26 Rotary Club and the Professional Fire Fighters Association of 27 Illinois; and 28 WHEREAS, Mr. Jacklin has been married to his wife, Betty, 29 for 53 years; together, they have four sons, Robert III, 30 Richard (deceased), Randall, and Rod; they are the 31 grandparents to 13 children; therefore, be it -2- LRB9218128HShsA 1 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 2 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 3 we recognize and commend Robert T. Jacklin, Sr. upon receipt 4 of the 2002 Charles E. Piper Award; and be it further 5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 6 present to Robert T. Jaclkin, Sr.
