92_HR1120 LRB9218373KFkf 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of the members of 3 the Illinois House of Representatives that Senior Pilot Gary 4 "Ponch" McDonal will be retiring from the State of Illinois, 5 Division of Aeronautics in December, 2002; and 6 WHEREAS, Mr. McDonal was born on December 9, 1945 in 7 Centralia to Bert and Betty McDonal; his father, Bert, was 8 also a pilot for the State and amassed over 30,000 hours of 9 flight time; and 10 WHEREAS, He attended Centralia High School and Kaskaskia 11 College; and 12 WHEREAS, He has flown for the State of Illinois, Division 13 of Aeronautics since January 1973; previously, he flew with 14 Sun Airlines and Airgo; and 15 WHEREAS, He has 29 years of service in executive air 16 transportation for the State of Illinois; he has flight time 17 in excess of 20,000 hours; he has flown many State aircraft 18 including: all single engine utility aircraft in the fleet; 19 Cessna 320; Beechcraft Baron; Beechcraft Duke; King Air 90 20 (2); King Air 200 (4); and King Air 350 (4); and 21 WHEREAS, He has flown for the gubernatorial 22 administrations of Governor Walker, Governor Thompson, 23 Governor Edgar and Governor Ryan; and 24 WHEREAS, His retirement will allow him to spend more time 25 with his wife, Pat; his daughter, Dawn Moushon; his 26 grandchildren, Cortni Williams and Bobby Williams and a new 27 baby, Zane Ryan Moushon, due January 1, 2003; and his 28 step-grandchild, Logan Moushon; and 29 WHEREAS, Mr. McDonal is an avid deer and turkey hunter; 30 he built, shows, and tinkers with his 1923 "T" Bucket; -2- LRB9218373KFkf 1 therefore, be it 2 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 3 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 4 we congratulate Senior Pilot Gary McDonal on his retirement 5 and extend our sincere best wishes to him for health and 6 happiness in the future; and 7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 8 presented to Senior Pilot Gary McDonal with our regards.
