1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of
3 the State of Illinois are pleased to honor significant
4 accomplishments of student athletes in the State of Illinois;
5 and
6 WHEREAS, The Tremont School District has continually
7 produced excellent students and athletes throughout the
8 school's history; and
9 WHEREAS, The Tremont Turks football program has been in
10 existence since 1946 and has always instilled teamwork into
11 its players; and
12 WHEREAS, The Tremont Turks football team broke a school
13 record by being undefeated with a record of nine wins and no
14 losses during the 2002 regular season; and
15 WHEREAS, The Tremont Turks ended their playoff season
16 with their first third-round State playoff appearance in the
17 school's history; and
18 WHEREAS, The community is justifiably proud of the
19 superior performance of its hometown team; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we congratulate the team members and the coaches of the Turks
23 football team of Tremont High School on their outstanding
24 record in 2002 and we wish them all the best in the future;
25 and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to Tremont High School with our best wishes.
