92_HR1162 LRB9218415HShs 1 HOUSE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of 3 the State of Illinois were saddened to learn of the death of 4 Robert M. Lindblad of Antioch on Monday, December 2, 2002; 5 and 6 WHEREAS, Mr. Lindblad was born on July 30, 1923 in 7 Highspire, Pennsylvania; he married Dorothy L. Dunn in 8 Maywood on January 11, 1946; and 9 WHEREAS, He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during 10 World War II and was a member of VFW Post #4551 of Antioch 11 where he was the senior vice commander; and 12 WHEREAS, He was an active member of the community; he was 13 a member of the United Methodist Church of Antioch, President 14 of the Lakes Region Historical Society and he was 15 instrumental in the restoration of the old St. Ignatius 16 Church into the Meeting House; and 17 WHEREAS, He served on the District #34 Grade School Board 18 for four years; he served on the Antioch Community High 19 School Board from 1964 until 1987 and he was President of the 20 Board for 14 years and oversaw a major addition to the 21 school; he was a member of the Lake County Regional School 22 Board and was a past President; he was a member of the 23 Antioch Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a member of the 24 fund raising committee of the William E. Brook Memorial 25 Wetland and Entertainment Center, a member of AARP and Senior 26 Citizens, and a member of the Lakeland Players and the PM&L 27 Theater in Antioch; he was the parade marshal for the Fourth 28 of July Parade in 2002; and 29 WHEREAS, Prior to his retirement, he worked as a business 30 manager for Raymond Chevrolet and Oldsmobile of Antioch; and 31 WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt by many, -2- LRB9218415HShs 1 especially his wife, Dorothy; his three daughters, Susan 2 (Marshall) Bickel, Wendy (Richard) Maston, and Robin (Thomas) 3 Kessell; his brother, Ray (Lorraine) Lindblad; his seven 4 grandchildren, Patience (Christopher) Bertana, Jason Bickel, 5 Amy Bickel, Robin (Michael) Rhodes, Justin Bickel, and 6 Kristen and Gretchen Kessell; his two great-granchildren, 7 Katrina and Lucais; therefore, be it 8 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 9 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 10 we mourn the passing of Robert M. Lindblad of Antioch and 11 offer his family and friends our sincere condolences; and be 12 it further 13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 14 presented to the family of Robert M. Lindblad with our 15 deepest sympathy.
