1 AN ACT concerning public utilities.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding
5 Section 13-505.9 as follows:
6 (220 ILCS 5/13-505.9 new)
7 Sec. 13-505.9. Provision of service; customer
8 authorization required. A telecommunications carrier may not
9 provide or make available to a customer any optional service,
10 feature, or functionality, including but not limited to
11 services that can be activated on a per-use basis, unless the
12 customer expressly authorizes the telecommunications carrier
13 in advance and in writing to make the service available.
