1 AN ACT in relation to townships.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Township Code is amended by changing
5 Section 45-15 as follows:
6 (60 ILCS 1/45-15)
7 Sec. 45-15. Township central committee. The township
8 central committee of the township, which is hereby created
9 for the purposes of this Code, shall consist of (i) in all
10 counties of 3,000,000 or less, the elected or appointed
11 precinct committeemen of each established political party
12 within the township or (ii) in counties of 3,000,000 or
13 more, the elected or appointed township committeemen of each
14 established political party. The committee, by a majority of
15 those voting, shall promulgate rules of procedure under
16 Section 45-50.
17 If the committee adopts a rule requiring a prior written
18 notice of intent to be a caucus nominee, the rule is not
19 subject to approval or amendment by caucus participants under
20 Section 45-50 or otherwise.
