92_SB0441 LRB9203380WHpc 1 AN ACT concerning family law. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Illinois Parentage Act of 1984 is amended 5 by changing Section 17 as follows: 6 (750 ILCS 45/17) (from Ch. 40, par. 2517) 7 Sec. 17. Costs. Except as otherwise provided in this 8 Act, the court may order reasonable fees of counsel, experts, 9 and other costs of the action, pre-trial proceedings, 10 post-judgment proceedings to enforce or modify the judgment, 11 and the appeal or the defense of an appeal of the judgment, 12 to be paid by the parties in accordance with the relevant 13 factors specified in Section 508 of the Illinois Marriage and 14 Dissolution of Marriage Act, as amended. In construing 15 applicable provisions of Sections 501, 503, and 508 of the 16 Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act, the court 17 shall disregard the parties' lack of or presence of a marital 18 estate, marital or non-marital property, or maintenance. 19 (Source: P.A. 85-1417; 86-1339.)
