1 AN ACT concerning employment.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Day Labor Services Act is amended by
5 changing Section 20 as follows:
6 (820 ILCS 175/20)
7 Sec. 20. Transportation. A day labor service agency or
8 a third party employer shall charge no more than the actual
9 cost to transport a day laborer to or from the designated
10 work site; however, the total cost to each day laborer for
11 each one-way trip shall not exceed 3.5% of the minimum hourly
12 wage established under law 3% of the day laborer's daily
13 wages. Any motor vehicle that is owned or operated by the
14 day labor service agency or a third party employer, or a
15 contractor of either, which is used for the transportation of
16 day laborers shall have proof of financial responsibility as
17 provided for in Chapter 8 of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
