92_SB0842enr SB842 Enrolled LRB9202585TAtmA 1 AN ACT concerning children and family services. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Children and Family Services Act is 5 amended by changing Section 22.2 as follows: 6 (20 ILCS 505/22.2) (from Ch. 23, par. 5022.2) 7 Sec. 22.2. To provide training programs for the 8 provision of foster care and adoptive care services. 9 Training provided to foster parents shall include training 10 and information on their right to be heard, to bring a 11 mandamus action, and to intervene in juvenile court as set 12 forth under subsection (2) of Section 1-5 of the Juvenile 13 Court Act of 1987 and the availability of the hotline 14 established under Section 35.6 of this Act, that foster 15 parents may use to report incidents of misconduct or 16 violation of rules by Department employees, service 17 providers, or contractors. Monies for such training programs 18 shall be derived from the Department of Children and Family 19 Services Training Fund, hereby created in the State Treasury. 20 Deposits to this fund shall consist of federal financial 21 participation in foster care and adoption care training 22 programs, public and unsolicited private grants and fees for 23 such training, and royalties earned from the publication of 24 materials owned by or licensed to the Department. In 25 addition, with the approval of the Governor, the Department 26 may transfer amounts not exceeding $2,000,000 in each fiscal 27 year from the DCFS Children's Services Fund to the Department 28 of Children and Family Services Training Fund. Disbursements 29 from the Department of Children and Family Services Training 30 Fund shall be made by the Department for foster care and 31 adoptive care training services in accordance with federal SB842 Enrolled -2- LRB9202585TAtmA 1 standards. 2 (Source: P.A. 91-712, eff. 7-1-00.)
