92_SB1226 LRB9204310LBmg 1 AN ACT in relation to the regulation of professions. 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 3 represented in the General Assembly: 4 Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended 5 by changing Section 10 as follows: 6 (225 ILCS 60/10) (from Ch. 111, par. 4400-10) 7 Sec. 10. Duties of the Department. The Department shall: 8 (A) Make rules for establishing reasonable minimum 9 standards of educational requirements to be observed by 10 medical, osteopathic and chiropractic colleges.;11 (B) Effectuate the policy of the State of Illinois that 12 the quality of medical training is an appropriate concern in 13 the recruiting, licensing, credentialing and participation in 14 residency programs of physicians. However, it is 15 inappropriate to discriminate against any physician because 16 of national origin or geographic location of medical 17 education.;18 (C) Formulate rules and regulations required for the 19 administration of this Act. 20 (Source: P.A. 86-573.)
