 1        AN ACT in relation to the Metropolitan Airport Authority.

 2        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:


 4        (70 ILCS 5/2.7) (from Ch. 15 1/2, par. 68.2g)
 5        Sec. 2.7. Metropolitan Airport Authority.
 6        (a)  Upon the effective date of this  amendatory  Act  of
 7    1986,  in  any  county  with a population between 600,000 and
 8    3,000,000 and contiguous to a county  with  a  population  in
 9    excess  of  1,000,000  inhabitants,  a  Metropolitan  Airport
10    Authority is hereby established, the territory of which shall
11    include  all  of the territory within the corporate limits of
12    the county and the territory of  any  pre-existing  authority
13    located  partly  within and partly outside the county, except
14    the territory of any municipality whose territory  lies  both
15    inside  and  outside  the  county  with  the  majority of the
16    territory lying outside the  county.   Upon  that  date,  the
17    Metropolitan  Airport  Authority shall be deemed an organized
18    Airport Authority under this  Act.   Within  30  thirty  days
19    after  the  initial appointments have been made under Section
20    3.4, the Authority board  shall  notify  the  office  of  the
21    Secretary  of  State of the establishment of the Metropolitan
22    Airport Authority by this amendatory Act of 1986,  who  shall
23    thereupon   issue  a  certificate  of  incorporation  to  the
24    Authority.
25        (b)  If all of the  airport  facilities  of  an  existing
26    Airport Authority are situated within the corporate limits of
27    a  county  in  which  a  Metropolitan  Airport  Authority  is
28    established,   the   existing   Airport  Authority  shall  be
29    dissolved upon the establishment of the Metropolitan  Airport
30    Authority.   In such event the rights to all property and all
31    assets and liabilities, including bonded indebtedness, of the

 1    existing  Airport  Authority  shall   be   assumed   by   the
 2    Metropolitan Airport Authority.
