1 AN ACT concerning elections.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing
5 Section 1A-7 as follows:
6 (10 ILCS 5/1A-7) (from Ch. 46, par. 1A-7)
7 Sec. 1A-7. The State Board of Elections shall meet at
8 such time or times as the chairman or any 4 members shall
9 direct, but at least once per month. Five members of the
10 Board are necessary to constitute a quorum and 5 five votes
11 are necessary for any action of the Board to become
12 effective, including the appointment of the executive
13 director, the employment of technical consultants and the
14 employment of other persons.
15 If a quorum is present at a meeting of the Board, one of
16 the members present may vote for the absent member pursuant
17 to a written proxy signed by the absent member. A member
18 voting by proxy who is not in attendance may not be counted
19 towards the presence of a quorum.
