1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1521
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 1521 on page 3,
3 line 21 by inserting after "quarters" the following:
4 "; however, the amount of a scholarship in a single academic
5 year may not exceed $5,000"; and
6 on page 3, line 34 by changing "4 years" to "one year"; and
7 by replacing line 34 on page 7 and lines 1 through 4 on page
8 8 with the following:
9 "is created as a special fund in the State treasury.
10 Ninety-five percent of the moneys in the Illinois Future
11 Teacher Corps Scholarship Fund shall be appropriated to the
12 Illinois Student Assistance Commission for scholarships under
13 Section 65.65 of the Higher Education Student Assistance Act,
14 and 5% of the moneys in the Illinois Future Teacher Corps
15 Scholarship Fund shall be appropriated to the State Board of
16 Education for grants to the Golden Apple Foundation for
17 Excellence in Teaching, a recognized charitable organization
18 that meets the requirements of Title 26, Section 501(c)(3) of
19 the United States Code.".
