1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1820
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Bill 1820 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
4 "Section 5. The Hospital Licensing Act is amended by
5 adding Section 10.6 as follows:
6 (210 ILCS 85/10.6 new)
7 Sec. 10.6. Hospital merger; medical staff bylaws. When
8 one or more hospitals combine or merge in any manner that
9 does not require any of the parties to the transaction to
10 obtain a new license under this Act, the medical staff bylaws
11 of each individual hospital shall remain in effect until such
12 time as the bylaws are amended according to the terms of the
13 bylaws. This Section shall not apply to a county hospital as
14 defined in subsection (c) of Section 15-1 of the Illinois
15 Public Aid Code.
16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17 becoming law.".
