1 AN ACT in relation to labor arbitration.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Labor Arbitration Services Act is amended
5 by changing Section 1 as follows:
6 (710 ILCS 10/1) (from Ch. 48, par. 2301)
7 Sec. 1. Whenever any controversy or difference exists
8 between an employer and his or her employees or the
9 bargaining representative of such employees, the Department
10 of Labor shall, upon the written request of all parties to
11 the dispute, provide such arbitration services as may be
12 necessary for the resolution of such controversy or
13 difference, including but not limited to the assignment of an
14 arbitrator employed by such Department to hear and decide the
15 dispute or the designation of a panel of arbitrators employed
16 by such Department from which the parties may select an
17 arbitrator to hear and decide the dispute.
