Amend Senate Bill 2164 on page 2, by 3 replacing lines 20 through 27 with the following: 4 "(d-5) No person may drive a bus that has been chartered 5 for the sole purpose of transporting students regularly 6 enrolled in grade 12 or below to or from interscholastic 7 athletic or interscholastic or school sponsored activities 8 unless the person has a valid school bus driver permit in 9 addition to any other permit or license that is required to 10 operate that bus. This subsection (d-5) does not apply to 11 any bus driver employed by a public transportation provider 12 authorized to conduct local or interurban transportation of 13 passengers when the bus is not traveling a specific school 14 bus route but is on a regularly scheduled route for the 15 transporting of other fare paying passengers.".
