 1        AN ACT regarding appropriations.

 2        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 3    represented in the General Assembly:

 4        Section  5. "An Act regarding appropriations", Public Act
 5    92-538, approved June 10, 2002, is amended by adding  Section
 6    24  to  Article  1 and by changing Section 25 of Article 1 as
 7    follows:

 8        (P.A. 92-538, Article 1, Section 24 new)
 9        Sec. 24. The amount of $4,528,000, or  so  much  of  that
10    amount  as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General
11    Revenue Fund to the State Board of Education for deposit into
12    the School District Emergency Financial Assistance Fund.

14        Sec. 25. The following  amounts,  or  so  much  of  those
15    amounts  as  may  be necessary, respectively, for the objects
16    and purposes named, are appropriated to  the  Illinois  State
17    Board of Education for Grants-In-Aid and loans:

20    reimbursement to school districts for  extraordinary  special
21    education and facilities under Section 14-7.02a of the School
22    Code,  for reimbursement to school districts for services and
23    materials  used  in  programs  for  disabled  children  under
24    Section 14-13.01 of the School Code, for reimbursement  on  a
25    current  basis  only  to  school  districts  that provide for
26    education   of   handicapped   orphans    from    residential
27    institutions  as  well  as  foster  children who are mentally
28    inpaired or behaviorally disordered as provided under Section
29    14-7.03 of the  School  Code,  for  reimbursement  to  school
30    districts  qualifying  under  Section 29-5 of the School Code
31    for a portion of  the  cost  of  transporting  common  school
32    pupils,  for  reimbursement to school districts for a portion
33    of  the  cost  of  transporting   disabled   students   under
34    subsection  (b)  of  Section 14-13.01 of the School Code, for

 1    reimbursement to school districts for  providing  free  lunch
 2    and  breakfast  programs  under  the  provision of the School
 3    Breakfast and  Lunch  Program  Act,  and  for  summer  school

 6        Section  99.  Effective  date. This Act takes effect upon
 7    becoming law.
