92_SR0023 LRB9204077KBkbA 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of the Reverend Victor J. Sivore, who passed away on January 5 8, 2001; and 6 WHEREAS, Father Sivore was the popular associate pastor 7 of St. Benedict Parish in Blue Island from 1968 until 1974; 8 he also served as pastor of St. Cajetan Parish in Chicago's 9 Morgan Park neighborhood from 1981 until 1992; and 10 WHEREAS, Among Father Sivore's other assignments were as 11 associate pastor of St. Michael Parish in Orland Park from 12 1964 until 1968, associate pastor of St. George Parish in 13 Tinley Park from 1975 until 1981, associate pastor of St. 14 Patricia Parish of Hickory Hills in 1981, and his last 15 assignment as pastor of Saints Cyril and Methodius Church in 16 Lemont, which began in 1992; and 17 WHEREAS, Father Sivore was a very well known and dear 18 friend to many of his parishioners; he was an enthusiastic 19 sportsman who enjoyed golf and attended the 1970 Rose Bowl 20 and the 1982 Super Bowl as a guest of his friend, Jim 21 Plunkett, the former Stanford University and Oakland Raider 22 quarterback; and 23 WHEREAS, Father Sivore was active in numerous civic and 24 charitable organizations, including Metropolitan Family 25 Services (Southwest) and Southwest Cooperative Foundation; 26 and 27 WHEREAS, The passing of the Reverend Victor J. Sivore 28 will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially 29 his brother, James (wife, Rosemary) Sivore; his nephews, 30 Victor, Anthony, and Sean; his niece, Annmarie; his loving 31 friend, Margery St. Aubin; and his many friends and -2- LRB9204077KBkbA 1 parishioners; therefore, be it 2 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 3 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 4 all who knew him, the death of the Reverend Victor J. Sivore 5 of Lemont, Illinois; and be it further 6 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 7 presented to the family of the Reverend Victor J. Sivore.
