92_SR0036 LRB9208038RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of William J. Mulcahy Jr., who passed away on February 10, 5 2001; and 6 WHEREAS, William J. Mulcahy Jr. was the middle child of 7 five born to William Sr. and Diana Mulcahy; and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. Mulcahy began his career with Blake-Lamb 9 Funeral Home in Oak Lawn as a teenager, where he washed cars, 10 ran errands and worked as a janitor; after graduating from 11 the Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 1974, Mr. Mulcahy 12 became manager of the funeral home and went on to oversee 13 several Blake-Lamb homes until 1988; and 14 WHEREAS, Mr. Mulcahy joined the Andrew J. McGann & Son 15 Funeral Home in Chicago, where he was general manager and 16 later a partner; when the home merged with Stewart 17 Enterprises three years ago, Mr. Mulcahy became regional 18 manager overseeing five Chicago area properties; and 19 WHEREAS, Mr. Mulcahy was a member of the Marist High 20 School board of directors and past president of the Marist 21 Alumni Association; he was a former president of the Oak Lawn 22 Rotary Club and a member of the Little Company of Mary 23 Hospital Foundation Board; and 24 WHEREAS, Mr. Mulcahy was devoted to his community and to 25 helping others in times of need; and 26 WHEREAS, The passing of William J. Mulcahy, Jr. will be 27 deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his 28 wife, Kathleen Mulcahy; his children, William III, Joseph and 29 Mary Katherine Mulcahy; his stepdaughters, Elizabeth and 30 Bridget Sebek; his stepson, Joseph Sebek; his parents, 31 William Sr. and Diana Mulcahy; his sisters, Barbara (husband, -2- LRB9208038RHrh 1 Richard) Kuberry and Donna (husband, Thomas) Russell; and his 2 brother, Thomas Mulcahy; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, 3 John and Gloria Walsh; his brothers-in-law, John (wife, 4 Michele) Walsh and Michael (wife, Nancy) Walsh, and Peter 5 (wife, Veronica) Walsh; his sister-in-law, Mary (husband, 6 Martin) Mikolojewski; his uncle; his great-uncle; his cousin; 7 and his nephew; therefore, be it 8 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 10 all who knew him, the death of William J. Mulcahy, Jr. of 11 Beverly, Illinois; and be it further 12 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 13 presented to the family of William J. Mulcahy, Jr. with our 14 sincere condolences.
