92_SR0069 LRB9208348RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Kenneth R. Jillson, who passed away on January 29, 2001; 5 and 6 WHEREAS, Kenneth R. Jillson was born on December 7, 1951, 7 to Elsie and Edward Jillson; and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. Jillson received a degree in Finance from 9 Saint Xavier University and graduate degrees from the 10 University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking and the 11 University of Illinois School of Bank Investment; and 12 WHEREAS, Kenneth Jillson put his training to good use and 13 embarked on a very successful career in the banking industry 14 which included becoming a licensed Illinois insurance 15 producer and earning his Certified Insurance Counselor 16 designation, he was Vice President of Insure One Commercial 17 Insurers, Inc.; he later became Director and Executive Vice 18 President of Oak Lawn Bank; in all, he had over nineteen 19 years of experience in bank management, both at First 20 National Bank of Oak Lawn and Oak Lawn National Bank; and 21 WHEREAS, Kenneth Jillson was an active member of his 22 community; he served as a board member of the Rotary Club in 23 Oak Lawn, the Metro Southwest Alliance, and the Palos School 24 District 118 Foundation; he was a dedicated member of the 25 Nucleus Fund of Saint Xavier University and the Bedford 26 Park/Clearing Industrial Association; he was an active 27 participant in the YMCA Indian Guide Program and coached a 28 number of different youth sports teams; and 29 WHEREAS, Kenneth Jillson served in the past as the 30 Chairman of the Chicago Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis 31 Foundation, the fundraising Chairman of the Boy Scouts of -2- LRB9208348RHrh 1 America (Timber Trails), and the Capital Campaign Committee 2 of the Crisis Center for South Suburbia; he served on the Oak 3 Lawn Chapter of the American Cancer Society, and was a 4 charter member of the Oak Lawn Jaycees; and 5 WHEREAS, The passing of Kenneth R. Jillson will be deeply 6 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, 7 Deborah; his children, Melanie and Eric; his brother, Thomas 8 Jillson; his sisters, Jacqueline (husband, Ronald) Carlson 9 and Pamela (husband, Harold) Whitt; and his many nieces and 10 nephews; therefore, be it 11 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 12 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 13 all who knew him, the death of Kenneth R. Jillson of Oak 14 Lawn, Illinois; and be it further 15 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 16 presented to the family of Kenneth R. Jillson with our 17 sincere condolences.
