 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Illinois  Senate  wish  to
 3    express  their  sincere condolences to the family and friends
 4    of Howard Lee White, who passed away on April 12, 2001; and

 5        WHEREAS, Howard Lee White was born on August 5, 1924,  in
 6    Carrollton, Illinois, to Clifford and Martha White; and

 7        WHEREAS,  Howard  Lee  White  proudly  served his country
 8    during World War II in the United States Navy; and

 9        WHEREAS, Howard Lee White was a county  judge  from  1962
10    until  1963,  an  associate  judge  from 1964 until 1971, and
11    circuit judge of  the  Seventh  Judicial  Circuit,  State  of
12    Illinois,  from  1971  until  1984; after retirement from the
13    bench, he served as an attorney  with  McDonald,  Cooper  and
14    White Law Firm in Jerseyville; and

15        WHEREAS,  Howard  Lee  White  was an active member of the
16    First United Methodist Church in  Jerseyville,  the  Illinois
17    Bar  Association,  the  Texas  Bar  Association, the Illinois
18    Retired Judges Association, the US  Golf  Association,  Moose
19    Lodge  No.  695, Elks Lodge No. 954, American Legion Post No.
20    492, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No.  4528,  Masonic  Lodge
21    No.  394,  the  Jersey County Chamber of Commerce Ambassador,
22    the Jersey Community High School Panther Athletic  Club,  and
23    the Ainad Shrine Temple in St. Louis, Missouri; and

24        WHEREAS,  The  passing of Howard Lee White will be deeply
25    felt by all who knew and  loved  him,  especially  his  wife,
26    Freda;  his daughters, Sharon W. (husband, David) Koplan, and
27    Carol R. White; his son, Ronald W. White; his  grandchildren,
28    Marcus  Bidlack,  Brian  Bidlack,  Lance  Bidlack,  Kevin  D.
29    Koplan, and Katie Koplan; therefore, be it

30        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
31    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along  with

 1    all   who  knew  him,  the  death  of  Howard  Lee  White  of
 2    Jerseyville, Illinois; and be it further

 3        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 4    presented  to the family of Howard Lee White with our sincere
 5    condolences.
