92_SR0169 LRB9209079RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of N. Sheldon Dodds, who passed away on May 19, 2001; and 5 WHEREAS, N. Sheldon Dodds was born on August 17, 1911 in 6 Meeker, Illinois to Grover C. and Linnie Dodds; and 7 WHEREAS, N. Sheldon Dodds, a lifelong resident of Marion, 8 Illinois, was a 1929 graduate of Harding High School; on 9 February 14, 1934 he married Florence Maag; and 10 WHEREAS, N. Sheldon Dodds was a retired vice president 11 and sales manager for WMRN Radio, where he worked for more 12 than 30 years; after retiring from WMRN, he was employed 13 part-time for the City of Marion; and 14 WHEREAS, N. Sheldon Dodds was a member of Epworth United 15 Methodist Church, past treasurer of Marion Rapid Transit, 16 past treasurer of Marion Machine and Tool, member of the 17 Sales Ad Club, a 32nd-degree Mason, Masonic Lodge 70, member 18 of Elks Lodge 32, past president of Marion Noon Kiwanis and a 19 theater entrepreneur for the former Marion Theatre and the 20 Palace Theater; and 21 WHEREAS, The passing of N. Sheldon Dodds will be deeply 22 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife of 67 23 years, Florence Dodds; his sons, Daniel (wife, Terry) Dodds 24 and David (wife, Pam) Dodds; his daughter, Margo Schreiber; 25 his brother, Iver (wife, Dorothy) Dodds; his sister, Frances 26 Church; his 12 grandchildren; and his 7 great-grandchildren; 27 therefore, be it 28 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 29 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 30 all who knew him, the death of N. Sheldon Dodds of Marion, 31 Illinois; and be it further -2- LRB9209079RHrh 1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 2 presented to the family of N.
