92_SR0189 LRB9209154RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Marjorie F. Ashton, who passed away on June 2, 2001; and 5 WHEREAS, Marjorie F. Ashton was born on June 28, 1921 in 6 Zion, Illinois to George and Jennie Robbins; she married 7 Charles Ashton on February 7, 1948; and 8 WHEREAS, Marjorie F. Ashton, a graduate of Carthage 9 College, taught kindergarten in Zion for 18 years; and 10 WHEREAS, Marjorie F. Ashton was a WAVE veteran of World 11 War II and was a member of the Women's American Legion Post 12 #1122; and 13 WHEREAS, The passing of Marjorie F. Ashton will be deeply 14 felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her husband, 15 Charles; her sons, Robin (wife, Jan), Jeffrey (wife, Diane), 16 Kent, Cary (wife, Sharon), and Dean (wife, Lori); her nine 17 grandchildren; and her sisters, Evelyn (husband, Leroy) Davis 18 and Catherine Bird; therefore, be it 19 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 20 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 21 all who knew her, the death of Marjorie F. Ashton of Zion, 22 Illinois; and be it further 23 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 24 presented to the family of Marjorie F. Ashton with our 25 sincere condolences.
