92_SR0210 LRB9210691RHrhA 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Eugene Joseph "Gene" Karban, who passed away on October 8, 5 2001; and 6 WHEREAS, Eugene Joseph Karban was born on August 13, 1927 7 in Paderborn, Illinois to Martin and Lena Karban; and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. Karban was the retired owner of Bernie and 9 Gene's Harmony Pub in Belleview, Illinois; and 10 WHEREAS, Mr. Karban was a lifelong member and past 11 commander of VFW Millstadt Post 7980, and past VFW district 12 commander; he was also a lifelong member of the Knights of 13 Columbus, Millstadt Council 4741 3rd Degree and Belleville 14 Council 1028 4th Degree, lifelong member of the Millstadt 15 Fire Department, and lifelong member and former office-holder 16 of the Illinois Retail Liquor Association; Mr. Karban was a 17 veteran of the United States Army; and 18 WHEREAS, The passing of Eugene Karban will be deeply felt 19 by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Mary Ann 20 Karban; his son, Al "Tater" (wife, Mary Lynn) Karban; his 21 daughter, Bonnie (husband, Bill) Santanello; his 22 stepdaughters, Janice and Judy Faulstich, Joyce (husband, 23 Dale) Muckensturm, Jackie (husband, Jeff) Muckensturm, and 24 Jeanette (husband, Chuck) Pierce; his sisters, Sis (husband, 25 Ron) Blaes and Bernie (husband, Richard) Haas; his 26 sister-in-law, Betty Karban; his grandchildren, Kari and 27 Kasey Karban and Brooks Santanello; his seven 28 step-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews; therefore, be 29 it 30 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 31 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with -2- LRB9210691RHrhA 1 all who knew him, the death of Eugene Joseph Karban of 2 Belleville, Illinois; and be it further 3 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 4 presented to the family of Eugene Joseph Karban with our 5 sincere condolences.
