92_SR0261 LRB9211098RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Mary Luisa Mendoza Calderon, who passed away on May 11, 5 2001; and 6 WHEREAS, Maria Luisa Mendoza was born on December 8, 1933 7 in Querendaro, Michoacan, Mexico; her loving adoptive parents 8 were Maria Calderon and Jose Ibarra; and 9 WHEREAS, Maria Luisa Mendoza fought hard to bring her 10 children to the United States in the hopes of providing a 11 better life for them; and 12 WHEREAS, During her life, Maria Luisa Mendoza was a 13 seamstress, entrepreneur, business owner, merchant, and 14 healer; and 15 WHEREAS, Maria Luisa Mendoza's love for God and 16 demonstration of faith until the very end will live in the 17 hearts, minds, and memories of her children; and 18 WHEREAS, The passing of Maria Luisa Mendoza Calderon will 19 be deeply felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her 20 children, Angeles Navarro, Lourdes Blacksmith, Daniel Romero, 21 Regina Carballo, Carlos Romero, Lidia Sender, Laura Martinez, 22 Xochitl Romero, and Eileen Farias; her grandchildren, Iris, 23 Deidre, Erin, Kelwin, Nicole, Stefanie, Keith, Alanis, 24 Joshua, Saidie, Crystal, Donny, A.J., Nathaniel, Aidan, 25 Martin, Brandon, and Chantal; and her sister, Josefina; 26 therefore, be it 27 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 29 all who knew her, the death of Maria Luisa Mendoza Calderon 30 of West Chicago, Illinois; and be it further -2- LRB9211098RHrh 1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 2 presented to the family of Maria Luisa Mendoza Calderon with 3 our sincere condolences.
