92_SR0290 SRS92SR0032MHbm 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the 3 United States reserves certain powers to the sovereign fifty 4 states; and 5 WHEREAS, The United States Senate and House of 6 Representatives occasionally advocate policies that fail to 7 respect the Constitutional division of federal and state 8 powers; therefore be it 9 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the members of the 11 Illinois State Senate reaffirm that the Illinois Aeronautics 12 Act and other relevant State laws are vital to protecting the 13 interests of the citizens of the State of Illinois with 14 respect to airport development projects and their impact on 15 the State's overall air and ground transportation systems, 16 regional mass transit systems, public health and safety, the 17 environment, land use, public finances, and other relevant 18 areas; and be it further 19 RESOLVED, that the members of the Illinois State Senate 20 oppose any federal effort to preempt the State of Illinois' 21 laws concerning airport development projects.
