92_SR0308 LRB9215391RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of Robert Vernon Brown, who passed away on December 25, 2001; 5 and 6 WHEREAS, Robert Vernon Brown was born in East St. Louis, 7 Illinois, on October 7, 1936, the oldest of three children 8 born to Robert Eugene and Madeline Rountree Brown; and 9 WHEREAS, Mr. Brown attended East St. Louis public schools 10 and he graduated from Lincoln Sr. High in June, 1955; and 11 WHEREAS, Mr. Brown was joined in holy matrimony to Karen 12 Jones Brown in 1968 and to this union one daughter was born; 13 and 14 WHEREAS, Mr. Brown worked for the Metro East Sanitary 15 District until he became disabled in April, 1988; and 16 WHEREAS, Mr. Brown was a lifelong member of New Hope 17 Baptist Church; and 18 WHEREAS, The passing of Robert Vernon Brown will be 19 deeply felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his 20 daughters, Bridgett Brown and Kandrise (Kelvin) Mosby; his 21 sons, Mario Brown, Harold (Barbara) Brown, and Darryl Brown; 22 his sister, Gwendolyn Gale; his aunt, Georgia Rountree; his 23 grandsons, Harold Jr., Mario II, and Elijah Mosby; his 24 goddaughter, Jazmine Cooper; his godson, Derrick Owens; his 25 sisters-in-law, Delmarie Smith and Selma Clemons; his 26 brothers-in-law, Frederick (Catherine) Charles, Jesse, 27 Robert, Elmer, and Ronald Jones; and a host of nieces, 28 nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends; therefore, be 29 it 30 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL -2- LRB9215391RHrh 1 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 2 all who knew him, the death of Robert Vernon Brown of East 3 St. Louis, Illinois; and be it further 4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 5 presented to the family of Robert Vernon Brown with our 6 sincere condolences.
