92_SR0385 LRB9216543BHbh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 3 to learn of the passing of Darrel D. Davis of Rockford, who 4 died March 25, 2002; and 5 WHEREAS, Mr. Davis was born on August 20, 1942, in 6 Benton, the son of Carl D. and Hildred J. Davis; he married 7 Judy Martin on August 25, 1963, in Rock Falls; and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. Davis was employed by Testing Engineers of 9 Dixon from 1967-1984; he then went to work at Terracon 10 Consultants in Davenport, Iowa, from 1984-1994; in 1994, he 11 and his wife moved to Rockford to open a Terracon satellite 12 office where he worked until his death; and 13 WHEREAS, While a resident of Rock Falls, Mr. Davis served 14 as a Commissioner for the Coloma Township Park District, 15 coached Little League, was active in the Rotary Youth 16 Exchange Program, and was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran 17 Church, serving for a time as treasurer and as Sunday school 18 superintendent; as a Rockford resident, he was a member of 19 Good Shepard Lutheran Church; and 20 WHEREAS, Mr. Davis will be deeply missed by all those who 21 knew him and loved him, especially his wife, Judy; his sons, 22 Jeffrey (Michelle) Davis and Christopher (Cristiane) Davis; 23 his mother, Hildred Davis; his sisters, Joan Joseph and 24 Deborah (Chuck) Whitmore; his two grandsons, Jeffrey Dean 25 "J.D." Davis, Jr. and Maxwell Davis; and his several nieces 26 and nephews; therefore, be it 27 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 29 his family and friends, the death of Darrel D. Davis of 30 Rockford; and be it further 31 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be -2- LRB9216543BHbh 1 presented to the family of Darrel D. Davis with our sincere 2 condolences.
