92_SR0386 LRB9216585RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends 4 of John M. Kollins, who passed away on April 1, 2002; and 5 WHEREAS, John M. Kollins was born on October 30, 1938, in 6 Litchfield to Martin Valentine and Jane Royce Kollins; he 7 married M. Jane Selgert in Livingston in 1963; and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. Kollins retired as a carrier from the United 9 States Postal Service in January 2002; he was principal of 10 Waverly School from 1970-1972 and had been a coal miner in 11 the Gillespie area for 10 years; and 12 WHEREAS, Mr. Kollins was a member of Virden Knights of 13 Columbus, the National Railway Historical Society, and St. 14 Sebastian Catholic Church in Waverly; he also served on the 15 Waverly Library Board for several years and was past 16 president of the Board; and 17 WHEREAS, The passing of John M. Kollins will be deeply 18 felt by all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, M. 19 Jane; his sons, John (wife, Jill) Kollins, Jamie Kollins, and 20 Joe (wife, Melanie) Kollins; and his two granddaughters; 21 therefore, be it 22 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 23 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 24 all who knew him, the death of John M. Kollins of Waverly, 25 Illinois; and be it further 26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 27 presented to the family of John M. Kollins with our sincere 28 condolences.
