92_SR0396 LRB9216628BHbh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 3 to learn of the death of Jessie "James" Williams of Chicago, 4 who passed away April 5, 2002; and 5 WHEREAS, Mr. Williams was born September 25, 1925, to the 6 union of Douglas Williams and Mary Smith in Weldon, North 7 Carolina; he was an only child; and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. James knew and loved the Lord all his life; 9 and 10 WHEREAS, Mr. Williams served courageously in the United 11 States Armed Forces from 1941 to 1945 and received three 12 medals of honor; and 13 WHEREAS, Jessie "James" Williams worked for over 40 14 years, 16 of which were spent with the Chicago Police 15 Department; and 16 WHEREAS, Mr. Williams will be deeply missed by all those 17 who knew him and loved him, especially his only beloved son, 18 Lyndon Jones; Lyndon's mother, Zola Jones; his life-long 19 friend, Pearline Jones; and a host of friends; therefore, be 20 it 21 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 22 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 23 his family and friends, the passing of Jessie "James" 24 Williams of Chicago; and be it further 25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 26 presented to the family of Jessie "James" Williams with our 27 sincere condolences.
