1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of
4 Chester N. Brown, who passed away on March 29, 2002; and
5 WHEREAS, Chester Brown was born on June 17, 1909, in
6 Cumberland County, Illinois, to Sherman and Carrie B. Brown;
7 he married Jennie B. McGinnis on September 11, 1941, in Linn,
8 Missouri; she preceded him in death on January 27, 1995; and
9 WHEREAS, Mr. Brown retired from the Illinois Highway
10 Department and also from farming; he was a member of the
11 Grace United Methodist Church of Neoga, the Cumberland County
12 Farm Bureau, and the Cumberland County Soil and Water
13 Department; he was an active member of the Republican Party
14 in Cumberland County for many years; and
15 WHEREAS, The passing of Chester Brown will be deeply felt
16 by all who knew and loved him, especially his son, Don
17 (Alice) Brown, his daughters, Kathleen (Jim) Bloomstrand, and
18 Janice (Scott) Hill; and his seven grandchidren; therefore,
19 be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
21 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
22 all who knew him, the death of Chester Brown of Neoga,
23 Illinois; and be it further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to the family of Chester Brown with our sincere
26 condolences.
