92_SR0398 LRB9216647BHbh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 3 to learn of the death of Alice Laura Williams of Rockbridge, 4 who passed away April 6, 2002; and 5 WHEREAS, Alice Williams was born April 9, 1909, in Dow, 6 the daughter of Henry J. and Caroline Volkert Depper; she 7 married Wilbur C. Williams June 22, 1932, in Carrolton, and 8 he preceded her in death February 26, 1991; and 9 WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams was a 1928 graduate of Jerseyville 10 Township High School; she was a member of the Rockbridge 11 United Methodist Church and the Rockbridge United Methodist 12 Women, having served as president for five years and was 13 currently serving as vice-president; Mrs. Williams was 14 treasurer of Win. Cemetery Association, Rockbridge 1 Precinct 15 Committeeman, member of the Greene County Democratic Women's 16 Club, Royal Neighbors of America, and the Tri-County Postal 17 Association; and 18 WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams had been a school teacher and had 19 served as Rockbridge postmistress for thirty years, having 20 retired in 1990; and 21 WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams will be deeply missed by all those 22 who knew her and loved her, especially her daughter, Sharon 23 Adele (Dale) Justice; her son, Charles E. "Bud" Williams; her 24 seven grandchildren, Jana (George) Moran Jr., Brian Justice, 25 Kevin (Diane) Williams, Diana (Steve) Schirz, Lori (Gale) 26 Joyce, Jeff Williams, and Julie Stribling; and her eleven 27 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it 28 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 29 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 30 her family and friends, the death of Alice Laura Williams of 31 Rockbridge; and be it further -2- LRB9216647BHbh 1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 2 presented to Alice Laura Williams with our sincere 3 condolences.
