92_SR0407 LRB9216650BHbh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 3 to learn of the death of Edward C. Drobisch Jr. of Decatur, 4 who passed away April 8, 2002; and 5 WHEREAS, Mr. Drobisch was born in Decatur on November 13, 6 1914, the son of Edward C. and Myrtle V. Drobisch Sr.; and 7 WHEREAS, Mr. Drobisch was a veteran of World War II and 8 retired as a Lieutenant Commander from the Navy; he attended 9 Decatur schools and the University of Illinois and graduated 10 from Millikin University; and 11 WHEREAS, Mr. Drobisch retired as chairman of the board of 12 Realty World-Ed Drobisch & Co.; he was a retired Realtor and 13 appraiser for more than 50 years; and 14 WHEREAS, Mr. Drobisch was a member of the First United 15 Methodist Church for more than 86 years and served on the 16 official board; he was past president of the Methodist Men's 17 Club and past president of the Decatur Noon Lions Club; Mr. 18 Drobisch was awarded the Silver Beaver Award for his work in 19 the Lincoln Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and 20 was a 50 year member of Ionic Lodge 312, Consistory and Ansar 21 Shrine in Springfield; and 22 WHEREAS, Mr. Drobisch received Graduate Realtors 23 Institute and Certified Real Estate Broker Manager 24 designations and was a member of National Association of 25 Realtors; in 1964, he served as president of the Decatur 26 Board of Realtors, Decatur MLS, and Theta Chi fraternity; and 27 WHEREAS, Mr. Drobisch married Lucille Heinle on August 28 24, 1940; and 29 WHEREAS, Edward Drobisch Jr. will be deeply missed by all 30 those who knew him and loved him, especially by his wife, -2- LRB9216650BHbh 1 Lucille; his son David (Sue); his daughter Nancy (Ronald) 2 Ruegge; his grandchildren, Douglas (Alice) Drobisch, Timothy 3 Drobisch, Heather (Kaiyan) Ruegge Chen, and Marcus D. Ruegge; 4 and his great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Drobisch and Lauren 5 Ruegge Chen; therefore, be it 6 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 8 his family and friends, the passing of Edward C. Drobisch 9 Jr.; and be it further 10 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 11 presented to the family of Edward C. Drobisch Jr. with our 12 sincere condolences.
