92_SR0466 LRB9217382RHrh 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to 3 express their sincerest condolences to the family and friends 4 of John Brown, who passed away on June 28, 2002; and 5 WHEREAS, John "Jack" Brown was born on December 29, 1926 6 in Gillespie, Illinois to the late John R. and Louise Wetzel 7 Brown; he was the husband of Brenda Watts Brown; and 8 WHEREAS, Mr. Brown was a laborer for Shell Refinery in 9 Wood River for 33 years, retiring in 1961, and the operator 10 of Jack's Tavern in Gillespie; and 11 WHEREAS, Mr. Brown was a United States Navy veteran of 12 World War II; he was a member of VFW Post 4547 of Gillespie 13 and CFU Lodge 217 in Benld; and 14 WHEREAS, The passing of John Brown will be deeply felt by 15 all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Brenda; his 16 son, Jerry Jones; his daughters, Peggy (husband, Kim) Carey, 17 Jackie (husband, Pat) McKinney, Bonnie (husband, Mark) 18 Carpani, and Lynette (husband, Bruce) Hedrick; his nine 19 grandchildren; his brothers, Jim (wife, Mary Lee) Brown and 20 Jene (wife, Pat) Brown; and his sister, Joyce (husband, Al) 21 Mor; he was preceded in death by his daughter, Patty Brown; 22 therefore, be it 23 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 24 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 25 all who knew him, the death of John Brown of Gillespie, 26 Illinois; and be it further 27 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 28 presented to the family of John Brown with our sincere 29 condolences.
