92_SR0557 LRB9218248HShs 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, Members of the Senate of the State of Illinois 3 learned with great sadness of the death of Judy Behrens 4 Dunham of Aurora on Friday, August 30, 2002; and 5 WHEREAS, Mrs. Dunham was born March 24, 1937 in Aurora to 6 Ralph and Evelyn (Christian) Behrens; she graduated from 7 Oswego High School in 1955 and the Copley School of Nursing 8 in 1958; she was awarded a Doctor of Humane Letters by Aurora 9 University in 1996; and 10 WHEREAS, Mrs. Dunham worked as a general floor nurse, a 11 head nurse, a pharmacy nurse, a private-duty nurse and an 12 intensive care unit nurse during her lifetime of employment 13 in Aurora, Chicago and California; and 14 WHEREAS, Mrs. Dunham was a strong believer in education 15 and together with her husband, John Dunham, founded the 16 Dunham Scholars program at Aurora University; the program 17 covers full tuition for 15 juniors and seniors majoring in 18 business fields and is a scholarship that offers students 19 more than facts and figures; she believed it was important 20 that a business graduate be well-rounded, a responsible 21 citizen and a community volunteer; and 22 WHEREAS, Her enthusiastic support of Aurora University 23 was well-noted; in 1999, the business school was renamed the 24 John and Judy Dunham School of Business and Professional 25 Studies; and 26 WHEREAS, Mrs. Dunham was an active and energetic member 27 of her community; she served on the Board of Directors for 28 Plum Landing Retirement Community in Aurora; and 29 WHEREAS, Her loss has been keenly felt by many, 30 especially her husband, John C. Dunham and her sister Joyce 31 (Pedro) Behrens Serna; therefore, be it -2- LRB9218248HShs 1 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we join with family 3 and friends in mourning the death of Judy Behrens Dunham; and 4 be it further 5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 6 presented to the family of Judy Behrens Dunham.
