92_SR0564 LRB9218246HShs 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, Members of the Senate of the State of Illinois 3 were saddened to learn of the death of Marie Wallace 4 deMartelly of Girard on Monday, July 26, 2002; and 5 WHEREAS, Mrs. deMartelly was born on May 1, 1911 in 6 Girard to Jessie E. and Martha (Weaver) Wallace; she married 7 Louis S. deMartelly, Sr. on March 25, 1961 in Aurora; he 8 preceded her in death in 1985; and 9 WHEREAS, Mrs. deMartelly was employed with the Fox Valley 10 Girl Scouts as the Executive Director; she was a member of 11 the First United Methodist Church in Virden, Virden Senior 12 Citizens, Macoupin County Historical Society, Virden Women's 13 Club and A.A.R.P.; and 14 WHEREAS, Mrs. deMartelly will be remembered for many 15 things, but especially her love of working with children and 16 doing crafts; she was an avid reader and received an Honorary 17 Doctorate from Aurora College for Humanitarian Services; and 18 WHEREAS, Her passing has been deeply felt by many, 19 especially her step-son, Louis S. (Joyce) deMartelly, her 6 20 step-granchildren, her 6 step-great-grandchildren, and 21 several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it 22 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 23 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we join with friends 24 and family in mourning the passing of Marie Wallace 25 deMartelly; and be it further 26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 27 presented to the family of Marie Wallace deMartelly with our 28 sincerest condolences.
