92_SR0580 LRB9218468KFkf 1 SENATE RESOLUTION 2 WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of the members of 3 the Senate of the State of Illinois that Mary Louise Gunia of 4 Round Lake Park passed away on November 19, 2002 at 58 years 5 of age; and 6 WHEREAS, She was born January 19, 1944 in Oak Park to 7 Samuel and Lucille Hovanesian; she was raised in Honey Creek, 8 Wisconsin and married Anthony S. Gunia in Chicago on 9 September 24, 1966; and 10 WHEREAS, Educated in the nursing profession, Mary Gunia 11 graduated from St. Ann's School of Nursing in 1962; she was 12 employed at the Edward Hines, Jr. V.A. Hospital and, after 13 moving to Round Lake Park, she worked for Dr. G.A. 14 Goshgarian; and 15 WHEREAS, Mary Gunia was the Executive Secretary for the 16 Lake County Fair Association for over 15 years, the 17 secretary-treasurer of Northern Zone Illinois Association of 18 Agricultural Fairs, past director and, most recently for the 19 past three years, Information Specialist for the Lake County 20 Convention and Visitors Bureau; she has received various 21 awards as a result of her involvement with the State Fair 22 Association, the Lake County Illinois Convention and Visitors 23 Bureau, and 4-H; and 24 WHEREAS, In addition, she has served on the Lake County 25 Forest Preserve Committee and is a member of St. Joseph 26 Church; and 27 WHEREAS, Her passing will be deeply felt by all who knew 28 and loved her, especially her husband, Anthony; her sister, 29 Martha Mirek; her father-in-law, Stanley Gunia; her 30 sisters-in-law, Barb (Jack) Solak and Tina (Albert) Wysocki; 31 and many nieces and nephews; and -2- LRB9218468KFkf 1 WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel 2 and Lucille Hovanesian; her step-father, Clarence Gandee; and 3 her mother-in-law, Anna Gunia; therefore, be it 4 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL 5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of 6 Mary Louise Gunia along with all who knew and loved her, and 7 extend our sincere condolences to her family; and be it 8 further 9 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 10 presented to the family of Mary Louise Gunia as an expression 11 of our respect.
